Late Summer ETF2L News Round Up

The TF2 action is not looking to slow down in Europe with the start of Season 52 playoffs, the High-Tide Highlander One Night Cup Concluding, the Nations Cup kicking off and last but not least the announcement of Highlander Season 36. The future also has a lan in store for us so there is a lot to be excited about for both players and viewers alike.

The ETF2L 6v6 Season 52 (Summer 2026) playoffs have begun

This season's playoffs are already underway with two of the eight contenders already eliminated. The format is unusual as it not only crowns a champion of Premiership but also Division 1. The winner of the upper-bracket final will be waiting for a winner from the lower-bracket while the two losers of the latter will be fighting for the Division 1 title. The Plucky Luckers are going to face The Odds for a guaranteed spot in the Premiership Final while in the lower-bracket .ALPHAGLΩCK. are going to go up against The Compound. EXPOSE ME, EXPOSE ME will look to bounce back after their loss in the upper-bracket against Explosive Dogs who will try to build on the momentum after their earlier lower-bracket win.

The start of the ETF2L Nations Cup

Most of the first round results of the Nations Cup are already in and with many teams getting some late additions to their rosters, the race to the title may end up being more contested than expected. Additionally Maghreb United, a team that was in question to compete managed to put a roster together and has already made their mark this year with a victory over Belgium. The rest of the results have shown nothing unexpected but with round 2 and 3 still left to be played there are still lots of opportunities for teams to show their skills off. The last games left to be played are between Romania and Serbo-Croatia, the United States of America and Denmark. Our prior look at the competition will be updated with additional players to watch out for and an updated description of Maghreb United so be sure to be on the look out for it!

The ETF2L High-Tide Highlander One-Night-Cup concludes

The most recent night cup hosted by ETF2L brought four fun, experimental maps for teams to compete on. The maps played included a good variety of game modes from capture the flag to payload race. Teams were put into groups thematically named after aquatic animals and creatures based on their skill level with each crowning their champions. Congratulations to each group's winner who are the following:

Megalodon: Arch of Titus

Hammerhead: 007: Wedkarze na etacie

Salmon: Anglo: Oceangate

Tuna: george open

Anchovies: a smelly smell that smells... smelly

Goldfish: chudhalla

Guppies: egarnitur

For some teams this may have been a fun night to test the waters for the upcoming season while for others a good time to come together for a fun mix. Let's hope there will be more events like this in the future!

With the one night cup setting the tone, ETF2L announced the Autumn season of Highlander in Europe. The season starts on the 17th of August and will consist of a mid-season break for Uberfest so there will be no lack of 6s action either. The map pool sees no significant changes from prior seasons however Warmtic and Ashville will be removed according to feedback. One map is still to be decided and will be voted on by the community before the season commences. Sign ups are open already so be sure to head to the ETF2L website if interested or put up a recruitment post to join an existing team!
