Just a few weeks ago we announced that the former Exotic Island team would be leaving their latest organisation, play-ON. It seems the search for a new home has taken the best team in Portugal little over a month.
The team have long since proven themselves to be the best in their country, despite some stern competition from FM Sapphire! But recently organisation troubles has saw them become less active, with the chances of seeing them at another major European event slim. The teams prayers have been answered though after leaving the playON organisation just a few weeks ago, they have announced their new home today.
The organisation who are taking the team on are none other than k1ck-eSports. Most people will be familiar with the Portuguese organisation as they did house perhaps the most famous Portuguese squad, which also featured the Spaniard Carlos 'dumbazo' Garcia. The organisation also house one of the best Portuguese 1.6 teams - who have been seen in action at a number of international events whilst their Team Fortress 2 team were recently promoted to sixth position on Cadred's October Top Ten TF2 rankings.
Two of the current lineup have played under the k1ck tag before so making the transition shouldn't be too difficult for the side.
We will soon be able to see this team in action at the next XL Party series in December and at the Pombal LAN Party next weekend. With the backing of such a big organisation there is every possibility we may just see them at some European events in future.
Bruno "Frizen" Ferreira told us the following:
We are happy to have reached a consensus with an organisation of this stature. We hope that this move will help us keep motivated with the same ambition: win, win and win! I am confident that K1ck will provide us with the stability we have always wanted.
Carlos "acid" Guerra from the k1ck administration expressed his happiness:
It is with great pleasure that we welcome back a Counter-Strike:Source team into our ranks. Many of our achievements were brought to us by this game, so when we saw the opportunity to pickup the top Portuguese lineup, we didn't think twice. It's good to have n3w back, who was always a good friend, and now with these guys, we're hoping to dominate the Portuguese scene and show ourselves to the european scene too. I wish them all good luck.
k1ck-eSports now stand as:
Bruno "Frizen" Ferreira
Fábio "BuJ" Ferreira
Rui "emotioN" Sousa
Francisco "pamp" Pamplona
Fábio "n3w" Teixeira
