Good question, to explain:

The ranking uses an automatic Glicko-2 rating system (same family as chess and CS2 rankings), so it's based on results rather than opinion. There's an article here explaining most of it. A few things that surprise people:

• It's results-based and opponent-weighted. Beating a strong team moves you a lot; beating a weak one barely moves you. So a team with a gaudy win record against soft opponents can sit below a team with a "worse" record against tougher ones - that's intended, not a bug.
• There are two separate boards: 6v6 and Highlander. Only those two formats are ranked (no Prolander/Ultiduo/4v4/novelty cups), and a team is rated independently on each. Regions are geographic (NA, EU, Oceania, Asia, SA), not per-league, so you're seeing a mix of each regions results into one global ranking. This is something that will be tinkered with as time goes on to try and balance the amount of matches an NA team plays in a season vs. a European team.
• You have to be active. A team needs at least 3 ranked matches in the window and a game within the last 6 months to appear at all - inactive teams will drop off, which is why some "obviously good" rosters are missing.
• New / undefeated / just-returned teams are deliberately held back. We rank on a conservative rating, so until a team has built up a record it sits a bit below its raw win rate. This is honestly the #1 reason the board "feels off" at a glance - a hot 5-0 newcomer won't leapfrog a proven 30-game team yet.

It recalculates weekly, so very recent results may not be in yet, I'm also still churning through some archival data, so the rankings will improve the longer the site remains up. If there's a specific team that looks off, reply with the team name, and roughly where you'd expect them to be. I'll check their match history and see if something's gone wonky in the backend.

We're still processing and integrating a large amount of data, which has introduced additional teams into the rankings and resulted in a 7-point shift for GlobalClan Xiao. It’s also worth noting that the Global Rankings are designed to reflect a worldwide comparison, so they won’t always align directly with regional rankings and can appear skewed when viewed through a regional lens.
